Mission: Morocco Earthquake Relief Effort 2023
Mission Goal: Mosque Reconstruction
Location: Tamasit Village, Asni City, Al Haouz Province, Marrakesh-Safi region, Morocco
Mosque Construction: Rebuild stucture, interior and exterior
In partnership with a local non-profit, UMAACO has successfully restored a village mosque that had been damaged both structurally and aesthetically by an earthquake. UMAACO’s work included the reconstruction of walls and columns, repairs to interior and exterior staircases, and painting, wall plaster, tiles, flooring, light fixtures, and the speaker system, among other enhancements. Board members of UMAACO, along with other community members, visited the site to supervise the project, engage with village elders, and participate in the mosque’s inaugural prayer.
